British Unlicensed Beautician Sentenced After Botched Butt Enlargement Kills Patient

Donna Francis, 39, has been sentenced to one year in prison for the death of Kelly Mayhew after an unsuccessful butt lift.

Francis was charged with death of Kelly Mayhew, a 34-year-old TV producer from Maryland.

The unlicensed beautician pleaded guilty to “criminally negligent homicide” last month in a New York court.

In 2015, Mayhew and her mother drove from their Maryland home to Queens for a buttocks enhancement procedure by Francis.

Francis used silicone she had bought on eBay and injected it in Mayhew’s buttocks without following due medical procedure.

According to reports, Mayhew died from poisoning after being injected with the silicone.

The victim died after the silicon entered her bloodstream medically referred to as  ‘systemic silicone emboli’.

Following the death of Mayhew, Francis boarded a flight back to her native Britain a day after.

She fought a legal battle which she eventually lost in UK and the UK authorities extradited her back to the US in August 2019.
