Celebrities Making Extraordinary Gestures To Support Nigerians, FG Against Covid-19
Celebrities in music and the Nollywood industries are reacting in diverse ways to the Coronavirus pandemic and the attendant lockdown.
While some chose just to speak out against what they think is going wrong, others are making extra-ordinary gesture to their fans and the government.
Stars like Tonto Dikeh, Runtown, Peter Psquare, Chika Ike, Ini Edo, Yul Edochie, Banky W among others, are making their fans smile by giving out money and food items as palliatives, a few others have also supported the federal government in different ways.
The few celebrities who have supported the FG on Covid-19 include:
1 . 2Face Idibia
Popular musician, Tuface Idibia had reportedly donated N10m to the Covid-19 trust fund to support initiatives aimed at combating the pandemic in the country.
2 . I go dye
THEWHISTLER, had earlier reported that Nigerian comedian, Francis Agoda, also known as I Go Dye announced he was donating his new mansion for use as isolation centre for coronavirus patients.
Igodye made the disclosure on Instagram.
3 . Yomi Fabiyi
Nollywood actor and producer, Yomi Fabiyi had offered to volunteer to work with NCDC Lagos as an ambulance driver or support worker at any unskilled department.
Fabiyi took to his social media page to inform the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and Lagos State government of his intention to volunteer as an ambulance driver.
4 . Tonto Dikeh
Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh had, through her foundation, @Tontodikefoundation spent N23m in support of covid-19 initiatives through distribution of food packages to poor households in Abuja.
Dikeh disclosed this on Instagram.
5 . Williams Uchemba
Nigerian Actor and comedian, Williams Uchemba is another celebrity who has since the coronavirus outbreak, took to the streets of Lagos to distribute food packages through his foundation @helplinefoundation
The comic actor had last week on his social media pages challenged his fellow celebrities to share one million Naira to the vulnerable.
He tagged it ‘1millionchallenge’ to help feed 5000 most vulnerable people in the streets of Lagos
6 . Funke Akindele
Despite been dragged on social media by her fans for throwing a birthday party for her husband amid social distancing order, Funke Akindele had since taken to Twitter to support the covid-19 initiative.
Akindele had also distributed N100,000 among her fans.
7 . Yul Edochie
Since the outbreak of Covid-19, Nigerian Actor turn politician took to social media to fight for his fans, asking the federal Government to share N50,000 each to all citizens.
Yule had also shared N80,000 among his fans and to soldiers in the battlefield.
