Coronavirus Deaths: Italy Overtakes China
Italy is now ahead of China as the nation with the highest number of covid-19 deaths, totaling 3405.
Covid-19 deaths in China (where the spread began) stands at 3,245 with no new case recorded on Thursday.

Recall that the World Health Organization (WHO) had declared Europe as the epicenter of the global pandemic.
Italy’s government had also ordered a nationwide lockdown as measures to contain the virus from spreading further.
“The situation risks going out of control and these measures are necessary to keep the spread at bay, “Walter Ricciardi, Italian government’s coronavirus adviser said.
Meanwhile, the continent of Africa had also been cautioned by WHO not to take the spread of the SARs-like virus lightly.

“Africa should wake up, my continent should wake up,” Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said.
The spread of coronavirus has reached over 120 countries with 236920 cases and 9829 deaths.
