FG Orders Nationwide Closure Of Schools Over Coronavirus

The federal government of Nigeria has ordered the immediate closure of all unity schools in the country over the rising cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The government announced the directive through the ministry of education on Thursday.

The ministry said all 104 unity schools in the country would be closed effective from March 26.

The ministry urged principals of all the unity schools to fast track the on-going second term examinations and close shop until further notice.

The government took the decision after Nigeria’s confirmed cases of COVID-19 rose from 3 to 12 cases on Thursday.
