Court Remands Ex-Kaduna Governor In Prison

Federal High Court in Kaduna has remanded former state governor, Ramalan Yero and three others in prison custody.

Mr. Yero is being remanded alongside Minister for state for Power, Nuhu Wya, the former secretary to the Kaduna State Government, Hamza Ishaq and former Kaduna state PDP Chairman, Haruna Gaya.

The men were arraigned before Justice Mohammed Shuaibu in a four-count charge of criminal conspiracy, money laundering, misappropriation of public funds and breach of trust.

They pleaded not guilty to the charges when it was read to them.

Mr. Yero and the others have been under investigation by the EFCC since 2016 over the N750 million PDP campaign funds for the 2015 general elections.
