COVID-19: General Overseer Urges Congregation To Stay Home For 2 More Weeks

The General Overseer of the Family Worship Centre, Abuja, Sarah Omakwu, has urged members of the church as well as Nigerians not to go out tomorrow Monday but remain at home for another two weeks in order to be safe from Coronavirus infection.

“I plead with members of Family Worship Centre @fwcabuja (and all those who love me) not to go out tomorrow (Monday 4th May) because many people are likely to rush into the streets as soon as the lockdown is eased,” she said on a Facebook post on Sunday.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had directed a gradual easing of the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown(allowing movements within the state), effective from May 4.

But the cleric advised members of her church and Nigerians in general to be patient for additional two weeks and not rush to resume work.

“I strongly advice you stay at home for another 2 weeks.

“Please do not go out except you absolutely need to do so.
God bless you!,” she said.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had recommended that social distancing, personal hygiene, wearing face mask, among others, to prevent spread of the virus.
