Edo Poll: Vote Obaseki For State’s Well-being, Atiku Urges Residents
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has called on Edo residents to vote for Governor Godwin Obaseki at the forthcoming governorship election.
Atiku noted that Obaseki’s administration would promote the well-being of the state.

“I urge all duly registered voters of conscience and who truly care about the wellbeing of Edo to turn out enmasse to cast and defend their vote for @GovernorObaseki,” he tweeted on Tuesday.
He argued that the evolving democracy of the state should not be truncated by electoral malpractice of any sort.
Furthermore, he urged all security personnel to ensure peace and security before, during and after the poll this week.
“The democracy that we enjoy today was bought at a great price.

“We can only deepen and sustain it by respecting the sanctity of the ballot and necessary review of our electoral processes.
“As the great people of Edo State go to the polls to elect their governor this weekend, they need to be provided with a secured environment to cast their votes and be assured that their votes will count,” he added.
Obaseki’s main contender is Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu, of the All Progressive Congress.
