#EndSARS: UK Urges Judicial Panels To Unravel Lekki, Other Human Rights Abuses

The United Kingdom (UK) has urged the Lagos State Panel of Inquiry and Restitution to ensure that it unravels the human rights violations that took place in Lekki, Lagos, following the #EndSARS protests.

The British High Commission in Nigeria, while tweeting about this on Monday, also condemned the activities of the hoodlums and looters across the country.

Meanwhile, it urged the security agencies to play by rules in discharging their duties.

“We remain concerned by acts of looting and violence in ???????? and urge security services to use restraint as order is restored.

“Working with all stakeholders, judicial panels of inquiry must investigate all incidents, including #Lekki, and ensure accountability for crimes. EndPoliceBrutality,” it tweeted.

Furthermore, the Lagos panel is billed to commence sitting on Tuesday (tomorrow) between 10am to 4pm, at the Lagos State Court of Arbitration, Lekki Phase 1.

Recall that the federal government had directed states to establish a panel that would investigate the allegations of police brutality.

The directive was in view of the widespread criticisms against the activities of some police officers.
