Hoodlums Mourning Colleague Attack Traders In Osogbo, One Feared Killed

Some suspected hoodlums said to be mourning their dead colleague on Thursday night launched an attack on traders at the Sabo area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

The attack which was said to have started during the candlelight procession in honour of their said colleague continued on Friday.

One person was reportedly killed and some were injured during the attack which forced many people to flee from the place.

Residents said policemen had been deployed in the area but they said gunshots could still be heard some metres away from the spot where armed policemen were stationed.

Although the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs Yemisi Opalola, could not be reached to comment on the attack, some of the residents said the attack caused panic in the area.
