Iranian Supreme Leader’s Aide Dies After Losing Mother To Coronavirus 

Barely 48 hours after a newly elected member of the Iranian parliament died from Coronavirus (COVID-19), the deadly virus has claimed another top government official in the Middle-East country.
His death is coming days after his mother reportedly died from the virus.

Seyyed Mohammad Mirmohammadi, a member of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council, which is a body advising Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, reportedly died on Monday morning.

Mirmohammadi, according to Iranian state radio, died at the Masih Daneshvari Hospital in Tehran, where most citizens infected with the virus are being treated.

The 72-year-old, who served as a member of the sixth and seventh Iranian parliaments, had been appointed into the Expediency Discernment Council by the Iranian leader in 2017.

Mirmohammadi was said to lost his mother to COVID-19 recently.

Meanwhile, the virus had reportedly infected Iran’s head of government task force Iraj Harirchi and the country’s vice president for women and family affairs, Masoumeh Ebtekar.

Mohammad Ali Ramazani Dastak, a newly elected member of the Iranian parliament, was confirmed to have died from COVID-19 by the country’s health ministry on Saturday.
