#NigeriaDecides2019: Abuja Residents Troop To Polling Units [PHOTOS]

Voters in Kubwa, a suburb within the metropolitan area of Abuja, are trooping in their numbers to various polling units in the residential district to cast their votes.

The voters are turning out at various polling stations to participate in the presidential and National assembly elections which holds concurrently today.

At poling unit EC30A located inside the orientation camp of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kubwa, Abuja, voters came out as early as 6:30 for the elections.

The voters were seen gathered at various points within the NYSC orientation camp to verif their names on the lists of eligible voters pasted in the camp by INEC.

Security officials were also on ground as early as 5:58 a.m when our correspondent visited the PU EC30A.

Security officials deployed to polling station ranged from men of the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) amongst others.

An official of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who said she wasn’t authorized to speak to journalists on duty, however said she arrived at the polling unit at about 5:30 am.

She said so far, there has been calmness as the voters cross-checking their names on the INEC list have peacefully conducted themselves.

Also on ground are various observer groups which include the CLEEN foundation, among others.

Meanwhile, as of 9:04 a.m when this report was being filed, voting was yet to state. It appears officials and ad-hoc staff of INEC are still trying to sort materials for the election.
