NNPC, Partners Donate Ambulances, COVID-19 Equipment To Support Kano

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and its partners Chevron Nigeria Limited (in the Upstream) and Bovas & Company Limited (in the Downstream), have handed over ambulances and medical consumables to the Kano State government on Saturday.

NNPC said the donation was presented by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, on behalf of the corporation.

The corporation said in a statement issued in Abuja that the donation was part of the N21bn intervention initiative on the COVID-19 pandemic by the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

The items donated to Kano includes A Toyota Ambulance, 2FullkitsVentilators, 1 Smith RescuPac ventilator for emergency and transport, 10 Pulse Oximeters, 10,000 Nose Masks, 5000 Nitrile Examination Gloves.

Others are 250 Face Mask Surgical Splash/Fluid resistance face shield, 250 N95 Respiratory Valve less low breathing resistance soft cup, 100 PPE Overall full kits, 100 PPE Shoe covers, 2000PPEdisposablecaps and 500 Medimec Surgical face masks.

Recall that similar donations had earlier been made by the oil and gas sector to the south-west governors.

The minister however said the initiative was aside the regular Corporate Social Responsibility initiative continuously being deployed by NNPC and the participating Companies.

The Minister and the NNPC Group Managing Director, Mele kyari have also headed to Maiduguri to perform similar donations.
