Nwuche’s Defection To PDP Laughable, Inconsequential – Rivers APC

The All Progressive Congress, APC, in Rivers State, has described the defection of former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Chibudom Nwuche, from its fold to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, as laughable, inconsequential and of no effect on the APC.

Deputy spokesman of the party in the state, Darlington Nwauju, made the assertion in a statement while reacting to Nwuche’s defection.

Nwuche had announced his defection to the PDP a fortnight ago during a ceremony in Port Harcourt.

Nwauju maintained that Nwuche’s defection was baseless, laughable and of no effect as the Ekpeye born politician was never an active member of the party.

“Chibudom Nwuche”s defection; baseless, laughable, inconsequential and of no effect,” he said.

APC has two factions in Rivers State with one camp under the control of the Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, and the other led by Mr Magnus Abe.

Amaechi supported the emergence of Mr Emeka Bekee, as the party chairman while the Abe faction also appointed its state officials, with Mr Golden Chioma announced as the party chairman in the state.

This has weakened the party in the state but Nwauju brushed that aside saying the party remains strong and united under its new leadership, as they are ready to take over ‘Brick House’ in 2023.

Nwauju is in Amaechi’s camp.
