Uguoji, who is the Campaign Coordinator of Jegede in Ilaje\Ese Odo Federal Constituency , in an interview with THE WHISTLER on Tuesday, said Ajayi’s kinsmen would not vote for him because of his desperation to be governor.

He said, “The entire Ondo South Senatorial District has resolved to work for the governorship candidate of the PDP in the coming election, Mr Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) to ensure total victory for the party.

“This was the decision taken in a well attended stakeholders’ meeting held at Agadagba-Obon, Arogbo, in the Ese Odo Local.Government Area on August 14 . The meeting was hosted by Hon. Sunday Yayu, a former Minority Leader.

” It was resolved that Ondo South should support Akure Indigene to produce the next governor because the state capital has never produced a governor in the state, although the deputy governor is from the Ese Odo Local Government Area in Ondo South Senatorial District, we will not support him because he is too desperate and that is why he keeps defecting from one party to another.”

Uguoji said the stakeholders noted that Ondo Central Senatorial District and Akure in particular, gave the maximum support to the late Dr Olusegun Agagu, when he contested governorship polls.’

“If they supported us then we should also support Jegede, who is from Akure now so that there will be fairness and equity.

” I can tell you that Jegede will win Ese Odo where Agboola Ajayi comes from and will win the entire state. Ondo South naturally belongs to the PDP and it shall remain so,” he added.

The campaign coordinator warned against manipulation of the election, saying the people of the state would resist such a move.

He said Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress had done his best and the people of the state had decided to replace him with Jegede.
