Over 500 Residents Benefit From RCCG’s Medical Intervention

No fewer than 500 residents at Kuduru community in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory benefited from free medical outreach organised  by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Throne Room, Abuja, in collaboration with Community Transformation Empowerment (CTE).

The assistant pastor of the Parish, Rev Emmanuel Mulero, said the outreach by the religious body was borne out of the desire to help members of the community who could not afford some medical services at health centres.

He said the outreach was targeted at an estimate of more than 500 residents in the community.

“The aim of this programme is to show love to the less privileged in society. We have visited several communities in the FCT to provide them with some basic facilities they lack.

“The programme is not just for Christians but for all that live in the community. We don’t discriminate among the people. Jesus is for everyone, so we attend to all that have gathered here today.”

Some of the services rendered at the one day intervention included donation of clothes, shoes, food items, sanitary pads, and free medical screening and drugs for common ailments.

During the outreach major health matters were referred to Medical doctors, dieticians, optometrists and laboratory technicians present at the event, with all the bills paid by the Throne Room parish.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Chinyere Uchendu, expressed joy over the intervention and commended the church for saving her from her ailment.

With joy she said, ”This is more than the medical outreaches people have been doing here. They checked my blood pressure, took my blood sample, and gave me drugs and food. If I had gone to hospital, I would spend more than N30, 000, but today I got everything for free.”
