The Pro-Chancellor and the Chairman of UNILAG Governing Council, Dr Wale Babalakin, had earlier today presided over a meeting where the vice-chancellor  was removed.

But the ASUU which had waged a serious battle against Babalakin  had earlier declared him persona non grata in the university. The ASUU chairman said the declaration still subsisted.

He said Babalakin was quite aware of the warning given to him not to enter into the university, saying that was why he took the meeting to Abuja.

The ASUU chairman said, ” The purportedly removal of the vice chancellor is illegal, it is egocentric The university community affirms its confidence in the vice chancellor, Prof Toyin Ogundipe.

“Dr Wale Babalakin was declared personal non grata here and that one is still there. That is the reason he took the meeting to Abuja.”
