Saraki Slams Tinubu, APC Spokesman: ‘Stop Behaving Like A Masquerade’

Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki’s media aide, Olu Onemola, has lampooned the acting National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Yekinni Nabena, urging him to “stop behaving like a masquerade”.

Onemola was reacting to several disparagements against Mr Saraki by the APC following the Senate President’s recent defection from the ruling party to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Senate President’s media aide claimed in a statement on Wednesday that Mr Nabena is only “a robot” that “has no face” as he is merely a rubber stamp machine whose signature is being affixed to statements by the APC that are written by someone in Lagos while he is based in Abuja.

Although he didn’t mention who allegedly facilitates the disparaging statements against his principal from Lagos, there are indications that the Saraki aide maybe referring to APC National Leader, Asiwajo Bola Tinubu, who has been having a running battle with the Senate President for some time.

Onemola said, “The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has said that he will not be distracted by the antics of an upstart who lives in Abuja but waits to sign press statements composed for him from Lagos. When his masters show their face, we will debate all the issues they have raised and the ones they may wish to even concoct.

“Dr. Saraki does not have any credibility issues except the ones concocted by these putative demagogues to whom the Senate President has become a nightmare.

“One should ask, what is APC’s business with an aspirant of another party? The truth is APC is scared stiff of the possibility of a Saraki candidacy. Fortunately, they have no role in deciding that.

“Meanwhile, Mr. Yekinni Nabena should know by now that many people in the media believe he is a robot and has no face. Here is an opportunity for him to come out of his hiding and come on a national television to debate all the issues he has raised with one of the aides of the Senate President. We hope he will take up this challenge and stop behaving like a masquerade,” said the Senate President’s media aide.
