This is not the first report of the president’s decision to work from home.

Minister of Information, Alh. Lai Mohammed had, after Buhari’s first medical vacation in April, reportedly said the president needed some rest and had asked that all his office files be brought to him to enable him work from home.

Meanwhile, President Buhari on Monday, wrote the National Assembly to notify them of his resumption “as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with effect from Monday, 21st August, 2017”.

The WHISTLER recalls that prior to the notification; President Buhari had earlier today addressed the nation on his return to the country.

Buhari, while thanking Nigerians for their ceaseless prayers for his quick recovery while in London, stated that he has “kept in daily touch with events at home.”

He said, “Nigerians are robust and lively in discussing their affairs, but I was distressed to notice that some of the comments, especially on social media, have crossed our national red lines by daring to question our collective existence as a nation. This is a step too far.”

President Buhari therefore said that the country’s “unity is settled and not negotiable, ” adding that his administration will not tolerate any “irresponsible elements” who dare to destabilise peace and orderliness in the country.
