Supreme Court Strikes Out APC’s Appeal Against Obaseki

The Supreme Court of Nigeria on Friday struck out an appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress, seeking to unseat Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state.

The apex court in a judgment, held that APC failed to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt.

In dismissing the appeal, the panel held that, “Appellants failed woefully to prove their case, they did not provide any disclaimer from the school that the result was not issued by them to Obaseki.”

The Supreme Court agreed with the lower courts that the appellant did not meet sufficient requirement to prove their case.

The lead judgement was delivered by Justice Emmanuel Agim.

Consequently, the panel awarded N1million cost against the appellant, in favour of Obaseki.
