VIDEO: Zimbabwe Mourners Boo S/Africa’s President Ramaphosa At Mugabe’s Funeral

The crowed of mourners booed Ramaphosa over the resurgence of xenophobic attacks and looting of foreign-owned businesses by South Africans.

The South African president had mounted the podium to address the mourners who gathered at the Zimbabwe National Sports Stadium to pay their last respects to Mugabe when the crowd booed him.

When finally allowed to give his condolence speech, Ramaphosa said South Africans are not xenophobic, insisting that foreigners were welcomed in the country.

“This we do to push for unity that Mugabe stood for,” Ramaphosa had said to pacify the crowed.

“I stand before you as a fellow African to express my regret and apologise for what has happened in our country,” he said after one of the organisers tried to calm the crowd.

Meanwhile, despite the insistence by the government of South Africa that its citizens are not xenophobic, foreign nationals have continued to witness attacks in the country in recent times.

The recent attacks had seen the evacuation of over 180 Nigerians from South Africa, with over 600 Nigerians said to have indicated readiness to leave the country over the latest wave of xenophobic attacks.
