13th Wole Soyinka Centre Media Lecture To Hold July 13

The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) has announced the 13th edition of the Wole Soyinka Centre Lecture Series which comes up on the 13th of July.
The program will hold at the NECA Hall, Agidingbi in Ikeja, Lagos State at 1:00pm prompt (WAT) and is open to the public via a link which allows for virtual attendance.

According to a statement signed by the CEO/ Executive Director of WSCIJ, Motunrayo Alaka, the theme of the lecture is ‘Remaking Nigeria: Towards a secure and viable union’ and the statement explained that the lecture series would examine various issues that affect the Nigerian polity and the role of the media towards ensuring good governance and social justice.

“The first in the series held in 2008. The tradition of holding the event on July 13 started in 2009 in the centre’s bid to honour Professor Wole Soyinka, its grand patron and Africa’s first Nobel Laureate in Literature, on his birthday, He will be 87 this year”, the statement read.

This year’s lecture will the chaired by Femi Falana (SAN), with Tolulope Adeleru-Balogun, head of Presentations at News Central TV, as moderator.
