The World Health Organization (WHO), Uganda, has maintained that the 5th Generation (5G) network does not spread Covid-19.
WHO Uganda tweeted about this on Friday, in an advertorial.
It based its position on the fact that “viruses cannot travel on radio waves/mobiles network.”
“Covid-19 is spreading in many countries that do not have 5G mobile networks,” WHO added.
It reiterated that covid-19 is largely transmitted through respiratory droplets(cough, sneezing, speak) of an infected person.
“People can also be infected by touching a contaminated surface and then their eyes, mouth or nose,” it stated.
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), on July 9, had said it would be developing a policy for the deployment of the 5th Generation (5G) Technology in the country.
It maintained that 5G would be a win-win for the digital economy.
“5G wireless technology is meant to deliver higher data speeds, ultra-low latency, more reliability, massive network capacity, increased availability, and a more uniform user experience to more users,” NCC tweeted.
