9 Feared Dead As Bus Derails In Lagos/Ibadan Expressway

Ogun Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Clement Oladele has confirmed that a total number of 9 people died at Aseese area on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway the early hours of Tuesday.

Describing the incident to news men, Oladele said the accident was caused by a collision between a Mercedes-Benz Marcopolo bus and an Iveco truck with registration number SMK 867 XG and AAA XP respectively at 5:30am.

“A total of 42 persons were involved in the accident; they comprised 34 males and eight females.

“Three male and two female adults were injured while seven male and two female adults died,” he said.

The commander further stated that the injured victims have been taken to a nearby hospital while the deceased were deposited at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital mortuary, Sagamu, Ogun.
