Anambra Election: PDP’s Valentine Ozigbo Reacts To Appeal Court Victory

The immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, Valentine Ozigbo, has reacted to the Appeal Court judgement in Abuja which declared him as the valid candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 6 Anambra Governorship election.
In a Facebook post on Friday, he described the verdict as “momentum swings in favour” of his political aspirations.

A three-man panel of the court led by Honorable Justice Monica Dongban- Mensem, granted Ozigbo’s appeal against a judgement of an Awka High Court which had barred him from parading himself as the PDP candidate.
Ozigbo recalled that his lawyer, Mr Alex Ejesieme, described the high court judgement as “faulty because it was based on a judgement by a Federal Capital Territory High Court which the Court of Appeal had voided.”
Subsequently, the appeal court ruled that his application was meritorious, thereby ordering the Independent National Electoral Commission to publish Ozigbo as the candidate of the PDP on its website.
The court also awarded the cost of ten million in his favour.
