Apostle Suleman To Stand As Surety For Sowore Despite Grudges

The president of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has said he is considering standing as surety for the detained convener of #RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore.

Apostle Suleman said he may stand as Sowore’s surety even though the latter had allegedly hurt him and others in the past.

Although Apostle Suleman did not disclose the nature of his grudge against Sowore, but it may not be unconnected to the publisher’s use of his Sahara Reporters news medium to publicise the sex scandal involving the pastor and one Stephanie Otobo in 2018

The pastor in a tweet on Monday expressed concerns as to why Sowore had not gotten anyone to stand as surety for him to enable his release.

“Am really worried that nobody is ready to stand surety for @YeleSowore..yes he has hurt alot of people,me inclusive. But do we focus on that and let his rot where he is wvwn if he  caused it in a situation like this what will christ do?.am ‘considering’ standing bail for him..,” tweeted Suleman.

Sowore, who is the publisher of Sahara Reporters and the 2019 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress  (AAC), had been arrested on August 3, 2019 by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) after tweeting his plans to stage what he called the “#RevolutionNow” protest against the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had last month relaxed Sowore’s bail condition which had included N100 million with two sureties in like sum.

The trial judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, had set aside a N50 million security deposit required to be made by one of Sowore’s sureties.

But despite the court’s varying of the bail condition, Sowore has continued to remain in custody of the DSS.
