Bandits Got N1.5m Before Releasing Nursing Mother in Bauchi

A nursing mother reported to have been kidnapped from her residence in Bauchi metropolis, Bauchi State, has been released.

The report of Rukayyat Odedoyin’s abduction was confirmed by the state’s police command on September 17.

Her abduction had sparked outrage as youths in the town stormed the street to protest the spate of kidnappings in the state.

However, The Punch reports that Odedoyin was released after the sum of N1.5 million ransom was paid.

The medium quoted her husband, Surajudden Odedoyin, as saying the family paid her captors the said amount before she was released.

THE WHISTLER had reported how the nursing mother was abducted from her home at midnight.

The assailants, numbering 10, were said to have broken the main door of the victim’s residence and whisked her away.
