Beards Are Sexy: Women Explain Love For Bearded Men

Beards, an unshaven hair that grows on the chin, upper lip, cheeks and neck of humans is usually carried by men right from the puberty stage.

While some men find it a source of pride and confidence, some other feel the exact opposite wearing beards.

Some also use expensive beard products to make them look polished and attractive.

It was gathered that wearing  a beard brings out the masculine nature of men, hence making them more attractive to their partners.

According to some opinions, a beard apparently determines the caliber of women a man would attract. Reports also surprisingly have it that keeping beards can make or mar a relationship.

THE WHISTLER, in this report, spoke to some women in Abuja who gave their thoughts on how keeping a beard or getting a clean shave is an important factor in a relationship.

Chelsea Charles (Event Planner)

“My man must have beards. It makes him look matured and very sexy. It’s even a turn on for me. I like the full one but it should be well taken care of. If my man can’t take care of his beards, I will help him but he can’t cut it all off. In fact, I make sure my man has beards before I accept their proposal. It’s a very important criteria. All my boyfriend have always had beards. There was even a guy I was dating when I was serving. I however realised that he looked too plain. No beards, no fancy haircut. He just and this very bland look. I even think that’s why I broke up with him. I just woke up one morning and realized that the relationship won’t work because he doesn’t have anything on his face. It plays a very important role in the relationship.”

“For me, I prefer clean shaved men. Honestly, when I think of men with beards, the first thing that pops up in my head is the dirt in those beards and I can’t imagine kissing a guy with breads. Although, some guys take very good care of their beards but there are some germs that live in those hair. I prefer clean shaved men but I find some men with moderate bread very sexy.”

“I like my men having beards. I actually like it on a slim guy. It usually fits them. I most especially like white beards. They are very unique. The men I am dating now is slowly growing his white beards. I like goatees (full beards) on my men. Whenever my boyfriend and I go out, women are often starring at his beards. I love that type of attention. I love hearing my boyfriend being complimented by other girls on his beards.”

“I like just a round beard. The ones that are extended to the neck makes the guy look unkempt especially when he is married. I don’t find it romantic. To me, it’s irritating. How can I kiss all that? But when it’s round and nice, it makes him look manly and cute. I can’t break up with a guy because he doesn’t have beards. But I can break up with a guy because he has beards and isn’t keeping it well. You know Mike (BBNaija), I can’t deal with his beards. It just too much.”

“I like my men having beards but I don’t like the one that is too much and he cannot control. He won’t look decent and appearance matters so much to me. As my boyfriend you don’t have to have it if it inconveniences you. It’s not by force. If my boyfriend doesn’t know how to keep his beards and I complain constantly about it but nothing happens, then I can leave him for not looking good. Like I said, my man must look good.”

“My man can’t have beards. It is hardly ever attractive. From start, when as a teenager I never admired guys who had beards. There is nothing more appealing that a clean shaved guy. If my man insists that he must have, it has to be very low. If you want to see the beauty or handsomeness of a guy, check him out without beards. All that hair just covers how great they look. ”
