BREAKING: Atiku’s Son Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Nigeria’s former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, announced late Sunday that one of his sons had tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Atiku took to his verified twitter page (@Atiku) to make the announcement.

He said his son who tested positive for COVID-19 had been taken to the Gwagwalada
Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment.

“My son has tested positive to coronavirus. @NCDCGov has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management. I will appreciate it if you have him in your prayers. Stay safe, coronavirus is real,” Atiku tweeted.

Atiku was the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general elections.

The former vice president was the main challenger of President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election, where he emerged second position.

He was one of the vocal voices that called on the Buhari administration to suspend all international flights coming into Nigeria to prevent the spread of COVID-19 into the country.

Meanwhile, Nigeria had on Sunday confirmed a total of 30 cases of Coronavirus, of which two have recovered from the virus.
