BREAKING: COVID-19 Infections Cross 1 Million In Africa
The World Health Organization (WHO), on Friday, said the total confirmed covid-19 cases in Africa now stands at 1,008,377.

Recall that WHO had in the past weeks predicted that the covid-19 status in the continent would hit 1 million mark.
The international public health agency had warned that the SARs-like virus was accelerating in Africa, thereby calling for the strengthening of health response.
Furthermore, it noted that a total of 22,087 covid-19 infected persons had died from the virus in Africa.
Meanwhile, it captured that more than 690,000 recoveries had been cumulatively registered.

South Africa accounted for the bulk of the infections, totaling 538,184, which constitutes more than 50% of the total case in the continent.
WHO had also dispatched medical staff to the country to help out.
