BREAKING: FCCPC: Senate Confirms Nwankpa, Irukera, Others’ Nominations

The Nigerian Senate has confirmed President Muhammadu Buhari’s nomination of Emeka Nwankpa as  South-East chairman of the Federal Competition and Consumers Protection Commission (FCCPC).

Nwankpa’s confirmation followed the Senate’s consideration of a report by its committee on trade and investment.

The Senate also confirmed Babatunde Irukera as the executive vice chairman (North-Central) of the FCCPC.

The upper legislative chamber confirmed the nomination of AVM Wakili Abdullahi Ahmed as a non-executive commissioner (North-West) of the commission.

Also confirmed was the nomination of Adamu Ahmed Abdullahi as executive commissioner (North-East) of the FCCPC.

The Senate, however, stood down the nomination of stood down the confirmation of Mrs. Yinka Osoba Apata as executive commissioner (South West) for failing to appear before the committee for screening.
