BREAKING: FEC Approves 2019 Budget Proposal

The Federal Executive Council (FEC), on Friday, approved the 2019 budget proposal.

The approval was given during a special FEC session chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari in the Council Chamber of State House villa, Abuja.

Minister of Budget and Planning, Udoma Udoma, who briefed reporters at the end of the meeting, said “the estimates have been approved and will soon be forwarded to the National Assembly for passage”.

When asked to give details, Udoma said “that will mean usurping the powers of the President.

“He is the one who will present it. I don’t want to usurp his powers,” he said.

He, however, said Buhari will present the budget on a day that will be decided by both the Executive arm and the National Assembly.
