BREAKING: Gunshots Rock Abuja As Police, Shiites Clash Again

Police officers and members of the proscribed Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), otherwise known as Shiites, have clashed again in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

The police are said to be shooting in the air to disperse the Shiite members who were marching through the Sultan Abubakar Way at Wuse, Abuja, on Friday.

The IMN members came out in their numbers to call for the release of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, who has been in custody of the Department State Services (DSS) since 2015.

El-Zakzaky was arrested after some Shiites members clashed with Nigerian soldiers during one of their processions in Zaria, Kaduna State.
