Buhari Appoints Heads Of Five Education Agencies

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment and reappointment of chief executives for five education agencies in the country.

In a statement signed by the director of press and public relations for the Ministry of Education, Ben Bem Goong, he said the president approved the appointments as part of efffrots to strengthen delivery of programmes in the education sector.

Prof. Akpama Simon Ibor was appointed the Executive Secretary, National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education while Prof. Mrs Chinwe Veronica Anunobi is the new Director of the National Library.

Prof. Musa Garba Maitafsir was appointed as the new Director of the National Teachers Institute.

Prof. Josiah Olusegun Ajiboye was reappointed as the Registrar of the Teachers Registration Council Of Nigeria (TRCN) and Prof. Bashir H.Usman was reappointed as the Executive Secretary, National Commission For Nomadic Education.

All 3 newly appointed heads will hold their positions for an initial tenure of five years with effect from the 2nd of September, 2021.

The reappointed heads of the TRCN and the NEC will also hold their positions for a second and final tenure of 5 years each.

In August, THE WHISTLER reported that President Buhari appointed heads of some education agencies, including the National Universities Commission (NUC), Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).
