Buhari Appoints Sarah Alade, Ex-CBN Deputy Gov As Economic Adviser
President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a former Deputy Governor to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sarah Omotunde-Alade, as his Special Adviser on Finance and the Economy.
The office is domiciled in the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning.
Alade’s appointment was disclosed in a tweet by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu on Tuesday.
Buhari had earlier appointed an economic advisers domiciled in the Vice President’s office in the person of Adeyemi Dipeolu in 2015.
62-year-old Alade holds Bachelors’ degree in Economics and PhD in Management Science (Operations Research). She retired from the CBN in 2017 after spending 23 years in the bank.
This appointment comes months after the president inaugurated the 8-man advisory council on the economy.
Recall that Buhari had promised to fix a bedridden economy and create millions of jobs in his second term.
