Buhari Congratulates Onnoghen As New CJN

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Justice Walter Onnoghen on his confirmation as the new Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
The WHISTLER reports that the Nigerian Senate on Wednesday confirmed Onnoghen as the CJN after screening him for over one and the half hours.

During the screening, the new Chief Justice of Nigeria answered questions on issues of the independence of the judiciary, reforms, corruption and disobedience of court orders.
Onnoghen maintained that the independence of the judiciary would continue under his watch as he believes that the judiciary is “the last hope of every man”.
