Buhari, Governors In Closed-Door Meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in a meeting with governors at the presidential villa in Abuja.

The meeting might not be unconnected to the new minimum wage for Nigerian workers.

Recall that yesterday, the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) held a meeting at their secretariat in Abuja.

The details of the meeting were unknown as the Chairman of the NGF, Governor Abdul’aziz Yari of Zamfara, declined comment.

The federal government had set up a tripartite committee to deliberate on the new minimum wage proposed by the organized labour.

The governors had offered to pay N22,500 while the federal government wants to pay N24,000 against the N30,000 being demanded by labour.
