COVID-19: Nigeria Records 8 Deaths As Cases Exceed 100,000

Official Covid-19 cases in Nigeria has crossed 100,000 as 1,024 persons got infected on Sunday.

Eight persons were also confirmed dead, taking the total death toll to 1,358.

Over 80,000 individuals have recovered so far, and according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), 613 were discharged on Sunday.

Records by the NCDC showed that there is a decline in the number of states infected with the virus.

Compare to the past few days when new infections were confirmed in over 20 states, Sunday’s record showed that 17 states reported new cases of the virus.

The NCDC, however, affirmed that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over, but the availability of vaccines would bring the nation closer to controlling the acute phase of the pandemic.
