Death Toll On Lagos Tanker Explosion Hits 12

The death toll from the tanker explosion which occurred last Thursday in Lagos has risen from 10 to 12.

This was revealed by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris, during a press briefing on Tuesday.

Recall that a fully loaded tanker had exploded along the Otedola Bridge axis of Berger in Lagos.

It was learnt that the brake of the tanker failed, leading to the explosion which engulfed at least 50 vehicles.

Contrary to earlier reports that 9 persons died, Dr Idris revealed that the 10th was an infant, while two of the seven survivors later died in the hospital.

He added that others are responding to treatment.
