Delta State Govt To Seize Goods Of Traders Who Inflate Prices During Lockdown

The Delta State government has vowed to seize the goods of those who are exploiting the lockdown period to hike prices of good.

The government disclosed this on Monday, through its Facebook page.

It also said that those hoarding food items during this period would also be in violation of government directives.

“Residents and citizens of Delta State should please note that it shall be an offence to inflate the prices of essential commodities/goods or hoarding of food during this lockdown.

“Anybody caught in breach of this shall have their goods seized or forfeited to the state as stipulated in the law,” the statement read.

Recall that the state government had ordered a lockdown so as to curb the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
