FG Suspends PTAD DG

The federal government, on Wednesday suspended the Director-General, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, PTAD Mrs. Nellie Mayshak.

This was disclosed by the Director Corporate Services, PTAD, Atiku Saleh, who noted that issues relating to the action was not made available by the government.

It was however gathered that the suspension was as a result of alleged fraud running into billions of naira.

PTAD, a directorate under the Ministry of Finance, controls the Civil Service Pension Department (CSPD), Police Pension Department (PPD), Customs, Immigration and Prisons Pension Department (CIPPD), Treasury Funded Parastatal Pension Department (PAPD), and the Pension Support Services Department (PSSD).

Recall that the minister of finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, last week, discovered over 23,000 ghost workers including police pensioners, and the minister asserted that the government will take adequate steps to fish out the culprits and punish decisively.

Adding to some of the problems confronting the Federal Government retirees which include non-payment of gratuity, pensions and arrears, and in some cases delisting eligible pensioners from the payroll.
