FMBN Applauds Umuahia CBN Solar Estate

The top management team of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) that embarked on an appraisal visit to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) cooperative solar city estate Umuahia, Abia state, has commended the effort of the initiators.

The commendation came when the top management team of the FMBN led by its Managing Director, Arc Ahmed Musa Dangiwa visited the site as part of the effort of the bank to ensure that facilities gotten from the bank are judiciously utilized. Amongst the team members were Hajia Rahimatu Aminu Aliyu – the executive director loans and mortgage services, Alhaji Abdullahi Dankaine – the executive director business development and treasury services and other top management staff.

On his own part, while conducting the team around the estate, the president of the Umuahia CBN cooperative society, along with some of his executives showed their immense appreciation to the visiting team for their support for the project.

He explained that the CBN SOLAR CITY ESTATE Umuahia is conceived as a well serviced modern solar-powered housing estates located at an emerging district behind Ojukwu Bunker which will boast of an infrastructure of a very high standard. Upon completion, the estate will have tarred roads, street lights and solar facilities. There will also be shared facilities such as playground, amusement park, clubhouse, creche, shopping mall, security services, water reticulation maintenance and waste disposal facilities.

In his own remarks, the representative of Geometrix Homes and Estates Ltd – The developers, Sir Solomon Nwaoku highlighted some key selling points of the estate which includes the use of solar energy to power the estate and the opportunity to own houses within the estate using the National Housing Fund (NHF) loans.

This he said was available for CBN and non-CBN Off-takers. He promised that his company will deliver an estate of high quality upon completion. He also said they were mindful of the time frames and will deliver the estate within the time stipulated.

The managing director of FMBN, Arch. Ahmed Musa Dangiwaand and his team who were obviously elated, in his remarks praised the quality work on the site and said his team were on a fact-finding tour of the project being one of the key estates which the bank is financing. He emphasized that his management ensured promptness in the release of funds for the project and was pleased with the adherence to prompt delivery.

It will be noted that the visit is the first of its kind by a top-level group from the FMBN to any CBN estate site in the country and has elicited positive commendations from many stakeholders in the housing sub-sector who viewed such on the site visit as an indication of the seriousness with which the new management team of the FMBN attach to timely and quality service delivery from developers that access funds from the agency.
