Ganduje Vs Kwankwaso: ‘Anini’ Calling Someone Else Armed Robber – Omokri

Former presidential aide, Mr Reno Omokri, has described Governor Abdullahi Ganduje as a ‘pot calling the kettle black’ over the governor’s bid to probe his predecessor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, for corruption.

Ganduje had during the inauguration of his re-election campaign committees on Wednesday, said his administration was working with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe Kwankwaso over multi-billion naira 5KM road projects allegedly awarded during the latter’s tenure.

“I was the deputy governor when the project was conceived. Ninety per cent of the total sum of the contract was provided by the 44 local governments while the remaining 10 per cent was provided by the state government,” said the governor.

“However, Kwankwaso collected the 90 per cent from the 44 local government, paid the mobilisation fee and funded his presidential campaign with the remaining balance. The Kwankwasiyya people have started campaigning with the 5km road project but I will expose them,” Ganduje had said.

But reacting via his verified Twitter account, Omokri, who was a media aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, likened the governor to late notorious armed robber Lawrence Anini who terrorised Benin City in the 1980s.

He tweeted, “Do you want to hear a joke? Governor Umar Gabduje has dragged Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to the EFCC on charges of corruption. Only in Buhari’s Nigeria will Anini accuse another person of being a thief”
