Hope Dims For Ambode As 36 Of 40 Assembly Members Back Sanwo-Olu
As the hours count, any chance that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state will clinch the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stand for re-election seems to dim.
On Saturday, 36 of the 40-member Lagos State House of Assembly unanimously resolved to support the position of the leadership of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) in endorsing Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the APC Gubernatorial candidate in the 2019 election.

The parliamentary endorsement is coming on the heels of the withdrawal of another governorship aspirant, Dr. Femi Hamzat, from the race.
Hamzat, at a press conference in Lagos on Saturday, said he took the decision to support the ambition of Sanwo-Olu, and directed his supporters to cast their votes for Sanwo-Olu during the party’s primary slated for Sunday.
