Buhari Scores 1.2 Million Votes In Katsina, Sokoto APC Presidential Primaries

President Muhammadu Buhari has scored 1,275,163 votes in the presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that held on Friday in Katsina and Sokoto states.

Buhari polled 802,819 and 472, 344 votes in Katsina and Sokoto States respectively during the direct presidential primaries of the APC conducted in the states.

The result in Katsina was declared by Governor Aminu Masari, while that of Sokoto was announced by Senator Aliyu Wamakko, who both served as returning officers in the respective states.

Speaking on outcome of the exercise in Katsina, Masari said, “During the primaries a total of 813, 877 people were accredited but only 802,819 cast their votes and Buhari won the primaries.

“The winner of the primaries in Katsina State is President Muhammadu Buhari as he scored the highest votes.

“I, Aminu Masari hereby declared that Buhari had won the election conducted in 361 wards of Katsina state,” he said.

Wamakko, while declaring the Sokoto result, said the exercise was largely peaceful as he commended the voters for their conduct.

President Buhari’s scores from Sokoto state were given as: LGAs, Sokoto South 36, 710, Wamakko 31, 941, Shagari 21, 920, Tureta 8, 779, Sokoto North 26, 787, Silame 13, 205, Raba 14, 705, Kebbe 15, 932, Bodinga 22, 188 and Isa 25, 010.

Others were Wurno 13, 243, Kware 17, 970, Binji 7, 478, Goronyo 20, 777, Yabo 11, 008, Tambuwal 23, 347, Tangaza 15, 079, Dange-Shuni 21, 024, Gwadabawa 26, 172, Illela 31, 692, Gada 27, 069, Sabon-Birni 31, 492 and Gudu 8,850.
