How Gunmen Shot, Butchered Businessman In Ibadan

The Igbo community in Ibadan is mourning over the killing of a business man based in the city, Linus Owuamanam.

Owuamanam was reportedly shot dead by some yet to be identified gunmen between Premier Hotel Junction and Sango area of Ibadan on Saturday night by some unknown gunmen.

The businessman was reportedly driving a bus and someone was said to be with him in the vehicle when the hoodlums struck and shot him repeatedly.

To make sure that he was dead, his killers were said to have also stabbed him on the left side of his chest to rupture his heart.

A passerby who saw Onwuamanam in the poll of his own blood was said to have picked his( deceased) phone and called two persons on his contact.

One of the two persons called was said to be Onwuamanam’s driver who rushed to the scene.
The driver reportedly rushed his dying boss to a hospital but be was rejected by the hospital which demanded police report.

He took him to a police station and eventually got a police report and rushed him to a government hospital but he was confirmed dead at the hospital.

The Oyo State Police Command confirmed the killing but vowed to arrest Onwuamana’s killers.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the killing to THE WHISTLER on the telephone on Sunday.

He said, ” The incident happened last night and we have begun investigations into it. We will ensure that those who carried out the dastardly act are arrested and brought to justice.”

The PPRO urged the people of the state to go about their legitimate businesses with the assurance that the police were working round the clock to make the state safer.
