I Was Left Out Of Baby Showers For Being Childless—Bimpe

Nollywood actress Adebimpe Oyebade, popularly known as Mo Bimpe, has opened up about the emotional pain she experienced during a period when she was without a child, revealing how she was excluded from celebrations involving children.

Reflecting on that difficult season, the actress said the experience was particularly painful because she genuinely wanted to share in the happiness of people around her.

“At the time, it hurt deeply. Not because I wanted pity, but because I loved children. I wanted to celebrate with people. I wanted to share in their joy,” she stated.

Mo Bimpe recalled that she was repeatedly left out of occasions such as baby showers, naming ceremonies and children’s birthday parties.

“There was a time when I wasn’t invited to baby showers, naming ceremonies, children’s birthdays, or anything related to kids,” she wrote.

She said the experience highlighted the burden carried by women who are struggling to conceive, describing the emotional weight of waiting and the insensitive treatment they can encounter.

“What many people don’t realise is that struggling to conceive is already hard enough.

“The waiting is hard. The questions are hard. The insults are hard. The silent prayers are hard,” she said.

The actress therefore urged society to show greater compassion towards women without children, stressing that motherhood should not determine a woman’s worth or whether she deserves to be included in moments of joy.

“A woman without a child is not less deserving of love, friendship, inclusion, or celebration,” she added.

Looking back at her own journey, Mo Bimpe pointed to the dramatic change in her circumstances as a testament to her faith.

“There was a time I had no child. Today, I am a mother of triplets,” she wrote.

Mo Bimpe married fellow Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji in December 2021 and welcomed their set of triplets in May 2026, after more than four years of marriage without a child.

Her journey from waiting for motherhood to becoming a mother of triplets gives added context to her message of hope to women still trusting God for children.

For women still waiting for their own children, the actress offered a message of hope, drawing from the transformation in her own story.

“If there is one thing my life has taught me, it is that God can change a story faster than anyone expects. What feels delayed is not denied,” she concluded.
