JAMB, NSCDC Officers, Other Kogi Kidnap Victims Regain Freedom

The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the release of ten kidnap victims abducted in the state last week.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, William Aya disclosed this on Tuesday that the six JAMB staff kidnapped on the Obajana – Kabba road were among those released.

Four NSCDC officers kidnapped along Alo-Offoke community on the Itobe-Ayingba road were also released.

He disclosed that the JAMB staff were released at about midnight on Monday, adding that they left Abuja early on Tuesday morning.  

While also confirming that the NSCDC officers were released on Sunday and had since reunited with their families, the police PRO did not state whether a ransom was paid before their release by the abductors.

Recall that the kidnapped officers were said to be travelling to Makurdi, Benue to sit for a promotional examination when they were kidnapped while the JAMB officials were travelling to Kwara to supervise the UTME mock examination.
