Former House of Representatives Chairman on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin is currently absent as the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges commences investigative hearing into the budget padding allegation on Friday.

This follows Jibrins pledge that he will not appear before the committee, as it is led by the House Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, who is the subject matter of the budget padding allegations.

The hearing, which is presided over by the committee Chairman, Nicholas Ossai, commenced barely 48 hours after the House mandated the Ethics committee to probe allegations of misconduct against Jibrin.

Jibrin had accused Dogara and some principal officers in the house of padding the 2016 budget.
