Kidnapped Imo Monarch Regains Freedom

The Imo State Police Command on Thursday revealed that it personnel have successfully rescued the former chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Samuel Ohiri from his captors.

Recall that Eze Ohiri was kidnapped on Saturday, 6th of January at his residence in Orodo, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state, by unidentified gunmen.

According to the command’s Spokesman Henry Okoye, the anti-kidnapping unit gave the kidnappers a hot chase in the forest and got the monarch released.

He said: “Recall the Command has been working assiduously in synergy with other security agencies towards ensuring that Eze Ohiri is released and some arrest have been made.
“To the glory of God he has been released, after a hot chased on the kidnappers at the forest by operatives of the Command’s Anti kidnapping unit.

“The Command will continue to work towards stamping out all forms of violent crimes in the State.”
