Kidnappers Collected Schnapps, Palm Oil, Yam Tubers From Victims’ Family

Abductors of three persons in Ode-Omi in the Ogun Waterside LGA, Ogun state released their victims after collecting Schnapps, palm oil, tubers of yam and the sum of N3.5 million from their families.

Among the victims were the son of the Chief Imam of Ode-Omi, Abdulazeez Sanni and two others – Adams Bamidele and Jelili Adams – who were kidnapped on August 10, 2019, being the eve of the Eid al-Adha celebration.

They were kidnapped at a boundary community between Lagos and Ogun states.

They however regained their freedom 24 hours later after the items were delivered to the kidnappers, according to Punch.

“The kidnappers collected N3.5m, carton of schnapps, 30 litres of palm oil, 10 tubers of yam and a five-litre  keg of vegetable oil,” the newspaper quoted a family source as saying.

The victims’ release had been confirmed on Friday by police in the state, which claimed that no ransom was paid to secure their release.
